Life and Hope Association (LHA) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent society founded in Gaza in 1996. LHA aims at contributing to the development and empowerment its beneficiaries toward a sustainable society based on the real and active participatory for the beneficiaries specially the youth and children.
LHA in partnership with Catholic Relief Services CRS starts a program entitled” Child Friendly Spaces (Farah Centers) under the CPP emergency response program funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). LHA is recruiting candidates for the following positions:
Title: Project coordinator
Number of positions: 1
Place: Life and Hope Association Office, Jabalia
Period: 5 months with possibility of extension
Starting date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative and technical supervision, follow up and implementation of the program activities.
- Supervision of technical and professional staff involved in the program activities that fall within his/her responsibility.
- Ensure all program activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to donors rules and regulations.
- Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper activities implementation on the ground.
- Prepare periodical reports as requested by LHA and donor in consultation with LHAs Child and Youth Program Coordinator.
- Assist the Executive Manager in monitoring and evaluating the program by reporting to donor on the program outputs and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of new program ideas in the field of work.
- To document all activities of the program and maintain an efficient program filing system including all program related documents.
- Perform any other tasks required by LHAs Child and Youth Program Coordinator.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other related field
- Three years of professional experience in project management, preferably with experience in working with NGOs.
- Professional level in both Arabic & English language skills.
- Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and within a team
Title: Site Supervisors
Number of positions: 3
Place: Gaza Strip
Period: 5 months with possibility of extension
Starting date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily progress of the program activities.
- Close follow-up of program staff and contractors in coordination with the Project coordinator.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and undertake monitoring activities.
- Contribute to the development of program work plans.
- Contribute to the identification of potential difficulties and determining means of lessening or avoiding them.
- Provide the Project coordinator with regular reports of activities undertaken and activities planned.
- Documenting all program phases
- University degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences or related field.
- Minimum of 2 progressively experience in similar field.
- Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
- Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment
- Respect for confidentiality, with diplomacy and negotiation skills
Title: Psychologist
Number of positions: 1
Place: Gaza Strip
Period: 5 months with possibility of extension
Starting date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
- Gather input for program development and monitoring, rolling out standards, methods and tools.
- Ensure that LHA methods and standards for the implementation of PSS programs are developed/revised and remain updated based on LHA programming practice and international standards.
- Implement LHA quality standards and PSS Minimum standards.
- Stimulate and monitor PSS programming.
- Support the revision of the PSS methodology and the development of new methodologies.
- Suggest modifications of sessions and exercises in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment, based on the feedback from trainees and children.
- Plan, implement and evaluate training courses on LHA PSS methodology, which involves creative tools such as games, songs, fine art, audio-visuals, group discussions, demonstrations, and practice sessions with feedback and role play.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to program staff in the field of PSS.
- Provide recommendations to LHA management when necessary on recruitment of potential facilitators and animators.
- Support the identification and packaging of PSS advocacy issues.
- Provide Project coordinator with PSS reports and recommendations.
- Perform any other tasks required by Executive Manager.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Major in Psychology, mental health, or clinical psychology.
- Minimum working experience of 3 years.
- Experience working with people affected by violence.
- Experience in conducting individual/family/group psychotherapies for adolescents and children.
- Experience in community psycho-education.
- Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
